A Healthy Work Environment – AES 6th HSE Forum

On November 14th, 2024, AES - Angola Environmental Serviços organised its 6th Annual HSE Forum under the theme “A Safe and Healthy Work Environment”, held at Hotel Trópico in Luanda. The event was attended by several contractors, clients, partners and government entities.
The opening session was presided over by the General Director of AES - Angola Environmental Serviços, Mr. Matuzalem Sukete. The objective of the forum was to promote workplace safety among contractors, partners and clients, through the sharing of best practices aimed at strengthening and improving management systems.
Several topics were presented. In the first panel, the following themes were addressed:
Creating a safe and healthy workplace for employees, presented by the Deputy Director of QHSE at AES, Eng. Cristina da Costa;
The contribution of employees to the management of specific waste streams in the workplace, presented by Dr. Teresa Bravo da Rosa from the National Waste Agency of Angola.
In the second panel, the following topics were discussed:
Mental health disorders and workplace absenteeism, presented by Dr. Sónia Cunha from MRC (Mental Rehab Care);
Technology in employee well-being, presented by Domingos Vaz Pedro, Director of Protection, Health, Safety, Quality, Environment, and Organisational and Human Factors at TotalEnergies.
On behalf of AES - Angola Environmental Serviços, the General Director, Matuzalem Sukete, expressed his gratitude to all attendees of the forum, with special recognition to the speakers and partners such as NOV, Clínica Sagrada Esperança, G4S, SONILS - Sonangol Integrated Logistics Services and Bureau Veritas, for their participation over four consecutive years and their continued willingness to share knowledge, as well as to all clients, contractors and partners.
The General Director expressed his satisfaction that the forum’s objectives were achieved and that all participants left with significant added value that will contribute to improving the management systems of their respective organisations.
