Two Decades of Environmental Commitment
Since our founding, we have been driven by the vision of an industrially strong yet environmentally sound Republic of Angola. Our history is rich in solving challenges and creating technological milestones that have transformed the waste management sector in the country.
2005
- Incorporation of AES
- Official opening of the facilities in Luanda
2006
- 2010
- Expansion of facilities and landfill, construction of cells for domestic waste.
- Installation of the 2nd and 3rd TDU
- 1st Tank next to the pier
- Installation of centrifuges
2010-2015
- Inauguration of the AES headquarters building
- Installation of 5 more TDUs making AES the largest TDU plant in the world
- Expansion of Facilities (Yard D)
- Expansion of the pier area
- Opening of the AES facilities in Soyo
2016
- 2020
- Zero discharge decree in force
- Startup of bulk plant
- AES Soyo secures a 10-year Waste Management contract
- ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001
2021-2024
- NORM Decontamination
- ISO 14001 & 45001 Recertification
- Progress with the expansion plan in Cabinda
- AES won the Award for Best Sustainability Project of the Year from "The Energy Year – Angola 2023" magazine
2025
- AES celebrates 20 years with the launch of a new logo
- AES celebrates 10 years in Soyo
