By AES Administration
Under the theme “Impact of Climate Change on Occupational Safety and Health,” AES held the 5th edition of its HSE Forum. It was an extremely relevant and timely gathering, considering the growing challenges the sector faces due to climate change.
Climate change does not only affect the planet; it also has direct repercussions on the workplace, influencing employee safety and occupational health. During the forum, we discussed how companies must adapt and develop strategies to mitigate risks related to extreme climate events, such as rising temperatures, flooding, and other occurrences that can impact both productivity and workers’ well-being.
This dialogue allowed us to explore innovative and practical solutions to ensure safer and more resilient working environments, integrating sustainable actions and a proactive approach to HSE (Health, Safety and Environment). Collaboration between different sectors and professionals proved to be key in addressing this global challenge effectively.
Safety and health at work are fundamental pillars for the success of our operations, and it is essential to be prepared for new demands both within and beyond the sector, by implementing short- and long-term measures aimed at mitigating and reducing the effects of climate change.
It was a privilege to share ideas and learn from all participants. We thank AES for organising this crucial event for the future of our sector.
