Waste Valorization

From 2005 to 2025, AES valorized more than 500,000 tons of waste through different mechanisms such as recycling or transformation, representing an average of more than 50% of all received waste.

Currently, AES has the capacity to treat / recycle / valorize more than 350,000 tons of waste per year.

For 2026, AES's commitment to waste valorization is to reach 65% of the total received waste, and our goal is to reduce the proportion of waste sent to landfill to less than 30% of the total received volume by the year 2030.

AES is investing in new equipment and Research & Development (R&D), in collaboration with various consultants, to find valorization solutions for some of the most challenging types of waste currently produced by the industry.

For all waste valorization activities, AES has established extensive quality control audit procedures to ensure that its customers and partners will not be exposed to any legal, environmental, or social liability.
